My History in the Arts
2011-Present
I grew up in Duxbury, MA. As a child, I loved to perform and was especially intrigued with videos. YouTube was invented in 2005 and I started watching videos on there a few years later. By 2011, I started recording and uploading my own videos. I used an iPod and computer to film and started editing with iMovie but eventually around 2013 saved up for Final Cut Pro X. I ended up buying a Canon T3i DSLR to make better quality videos.
At the age of 15, I moved from Duxbury, MA to Fairfax, VA to study at Fairfax Academy for Communications and the Arts. I was the first student to be in 3 concurrent classes. I took Musical Theatre/Actor's Studio with Michael Replogle, TV Production with Matthew Balthrop, and finally Music&Computer Technology with Christopher Johnston. I learned a lot from all of the teachers as they themselves are industry professionals. All 3 years at the Academy, I served as an Academy Ambassador. I would go to events with state officials/town officials/school officials and answer questions about the Academy. At the academy, I gained a love for learning.
After high school, I pursued a BPS in Songwriting and Producing Music at Berklee College of Music. During college, I continued to work on filmmaking by interning at Marshfield Community TV and taking multiple film classes at Berklee. In 2021, I received a Emerson Community Scholarship from Emerson College. I began my MFA in Film and Media Art in September 2021 at Emerson College. I have concentrations in Documentary Filmmaking and Film Editing.
